Premium Hungarian pálinka made from mahaleb cherries native to Hungary as well
Sesame cherries came to Hungary during the Turkish occupation and are known in the Middle East as mahaleb sour cherries. It has a particularly pronounced aroma and a slight field flower scent in addition to the fruit, due to the alkaloid content of the plant. It is both bitter and sweet, with no other effect on the consumer. This fantastic harmony is not broken by the high degree of alcohol.
